Chicken Cheeseburger Recipe
Ingredients
For the Chicken Patty:
- 500g ground chicken (minced chicken)
- 1 egg (optional, for binding)
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp onion powder
- 1 tsp paprika or chili powder (optional, for spice)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 tbsp chopped fresh parsley or cilantro (optional)
For Assembly:
- 4 burger buns
- 4 slices of cheese (cheddar, mozzarella, or your favorite kind)
- Lettuce leaves
- Sliced tomatoes
- Sliced onions
- Pickles (optional)
- Mayonnaise, ketchup, or mustard (or a combination)
Instructions
Prepare the Chicken Patty:
- In a mixing bowl, combine the ground chicken, egg, breadcrumbs, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper. Mix well until evenly combined.
- Form the mixture into 4 equal-sized patties. Make sure they’re slightly larger than the buns as they will shrink when cooked.
Cook the Patties:
- Heat a non-stick skillet or grill pan over medium heat and lightly grease it with oil.
- Cook the chicken patties for 5-6 minutes on each side or until golden brown and fully cooked (internal temperature of 165°F or 74°C).
Melt the Cheese:
- During the last minute of cooking, place a slice of cheese on top of each patty and cover the pan to let the cheese melt.
Toast the Buns:
- Lightly toast the burger buns in the same skillet or on a grill for added texture.
Assemble the Burger:
- Spread mayonnaise, ketchup, or mustard on the bottom half of the bun.
- Layer with lettuce, a cooked chicken patty with melted cheese, tomato slices, onions, and pickles (if desired).
- Add the top half of the bun.
Serve:
- Serve immediately with fries, a side salad, or your favorite dipping sauce.
