1 can (15 oz) of black beans (or any beans of your choice), drained and mashed
1/2 cup breadcrumbs
1/4 cup grated carrot
1/4 cup finely chopped onion
1/4 cup corn kernels (optional)
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp cumin powder
Salt and pepper to taste
2 tbsp olive oil (for frying)
Burger buns
Lettuce, tomato, and any toppings you prefer (cheese, pickles, etc.)
Instructions:
Prepare the Patty Mix: In a bowl, combine the mashed beans, breadcrumbs, grated carrot, chopped onion, corn (if using), garlic powder, cumin, salt, and pepper. Mix until everything is well combined.
Form Patties: Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions and shape them into patties.
Cook the Patties: Heat olive oil in a pan over medium heat. Cook the patties for about 3-4 minutes on each side, or until golden and crispy.
Assemble the Burger: Toast the burger buns lightly. Place a patty on the bottom half of each bun, and top with lettuce, tomato, and any additional toppings you like.
Serve: Close the buns and serve your veggie burger with a side of fries or salad.
